The NHS Practitioner Health Programme (PHP) is a national England-wide programme. The service provides mental health and addiction services to doctors. The NHS Practitioner Health Programme has been providing services to health professionals for the last 10 years. For further details about PHP please visit

Due to an expansion of the national service we are now seeking clinicians in the following areas, to enable services to be delivered locally and within reasonable travelling distances:-

We are seeking to recruit clinicians (nurse specialist prescribers and doctors – GP/Psychiatrists) to deliver aspects of care from first contact assessment, case management, prescribing and clinical leadership. Experience in treating mental health conditions/addiction is essential. You must hold a license to practice (GMC/NMC) and be qualified to prescribe. Clinicians will be paid an annual retainer for their services plus a fee per consultation.

We will be inviting clinicians who meet our requirements, to a series of events around the country over the next 6 months. These events will allow us to meet with you and talk more about the principles and service delivery models, for PHP/GPH and explore together if we are suited to one another.
